About Siena
Siena founded the sports club, Associazone Calcio Siena in 1904. However, it was not until 1908 that they started a football section, which is now known as A.C. Siena. The team is represented by the colors black and white on their jersey which was inspired by the coat of arms of the city of Siena. Its stadium, the Stadio Artemio Franchi, also found in Siena, can be occupied by only 15,725 spectators. In 1935, Siena was promoted to the Serie B. And after 55 years of playing in the minor leagues, Siena was again promoted to the same Serie B. However, the following season was not so successful for Siena as it barely secured any wins. The club battled its way back to the top though and in 2006, Siena fought its way to the Serie A in the Italian football league!
